Inventing a cooler, greener future.

Harwell, the UK’s leading science and innovation campus, approached us to help support COP26, the UN Climate Change Conference hosted in Glasgow, UK in late 2021. We conceived, researched and designed a five-part animated video series highlighting innovative new technologies that will help society reach NetZero.

Innovative hybrid aircraft: a new era of clean flying.

How engineers at technology company QDot are designing ground-breaking new aircraft propulsion systems powered by electricity rather than fossil fuels.

Environmentally-friendly fertilisers: growing crops while reducing emissions of greenhouse gases.

Researchers at the UK’s Natural History Museum in London are working with 100 partners from 11 countries to discover naturally-occurring microorganisms that can be added to soils as natural fertilisers, reducing the use of artificial fertilisers that release carbon into the atmosphere.

Solar energy in space: collecting it and beaming it down to Earth, eliminating greenhouse gas emissions.

In space, emissions-free solar energy can be harvested almost without interruption. Researchers at Harwell Science and Innovation Campus, Satellite Applications Catapult and Frazer-Nash Consultancy are designing satellites, systems and strategies to capture this energy.

Green batteries: The intelligent storage solution.

Researchers are working to create an intelligent storage solution that can capture, store and supply clean energy, reducing emissions of greenhouse gases. Such intelligent, energy storage systems could enable the transition from fossil fuels to renewable energy and will transform how efficiently cities and industries use electricity, power fleets of electric vehicles and help preserve the environment.
